Since 1986, the Shared Agency Risk Pool (SHARP) has been operating as a Workers' Compensation risk sharing pool. Members contribute to the Pool to pay claims up to a designated retention level.
The Shared Agency Risk Pool Joint Powers Authority (SHARP JPA), formerly ABAG Comp Pool Insurance Authority, was formed in 1988 where members collectively participate in risk-sharing programs that have proven to reduce the frequency and amount of losses in workers' compensation. SHARP JPA provides its members options for risk control and safety training to claims and litigation management, among many others.
